SYDNEY - Croatia has long been famous for its unique geography and natural beauty, especially down along its breathtakingly picturesque Adriatic coastline. Croatian limestone in particular has been a major part of many European structures throughout history. Perhaps most famous is the ancient town of Dubrovnik which is a beautiful and enduring example of historically significant construction utilising Croatian limestone.
Now, Croatian limestone is set to be made available to Australian builders, keen on using this delightful Mediterranean influence in their constructions.
Kamen Stone is an Australian Croatian owned company which is based in Perth and specialises in the import and wholesale of the finest quality natural limestone from the Dalmatian region of Croatia.
The uniquely southern Croatian variety of stone is best suited for exterior and interior wall finishes, feature walls, driveways and courtyards, amongst other uses.
According to one of Kamen Stone's co-owner, Ante Perak, he is in Sydney with another co-owner, Branko Bosnjak, where they were be holding a stall at the ''Full Frontal Tile and Stone Expo'', at The Dome at the Sydney Showgrounds, which started last Thursday and ran through until last Saturday afternoon.
''There is an opportunity for any Croats to view a sample of the limestone that we have imported from Croatia and to also look at a brochure of the different products that we have on offer,'' Perak explained.
