A new monthly feature of 'The New Gen' kicks off this week with the first instalment in a special series examining individual songs from Croatia's rich musical history.

Between 50,000 and 70,000 people visited this year's Vinkovacke Jeseni (Vinkovci Autumn Fair), in the Slavonian region of Croatia. This nine-day festival, held on September 7-16, comprised 10 or more events on each day and heralded the start of autumn and celebrated the harvest of golden corn amongst other things.
