ZAGREB - An Australian Government agency, committed to helping more Australian companies succeed in international business, has advertised for a Business Development Manager for its Zagreb office.
According to an advertisement which has appeared in a major Zagreb based daily, a vacancy exists for a ''creative, energetic, resourceful and self-motivated individual in Austrade's Zagreb office to work with Australian clients, facilitating market entry and sourcing business opportunities in Croatia and Slovenia''.
The position became vacant after the former manager, Sinisa Mikic, was tragically killed in a car accident in Croatia in late May.
If anyone from within the Australian Croatian community is considering applying for the role, it is expected that they will have a 'hands-on' approach to the management of the Zagreb office ''including the development of strong industry networks both in Australia and in the local markets''.
According to the advertisement, integral to the role will be the undertaking of complex market research and promotional activities on behalf of Australian companies, and the use of sophisticated computer-based business systems including the internet.
The successful candidate is expected to hold relevant tertiary qualifications and have a minimum of eight years working experience in marketing. They also ought to have the capacity to assume a management role and run the single person office in Zagreb successfully.
Employment will be governed by Croatian law and applicants, who will be offered an appointment initially for two years, must hold proof of rights of residency and employment in Croatia to be considered for the position.
