SYDNEY - On Sunday the 18th of May, Sydney's Cardinal Stepinac Nursing Home is staging a fun-filled fundraiser, featuring a fine selection of art and crafts among the many attractions that will be on offer.
Known as ''Croatian Heritage Day'', the St. Johns Park based nursing home's annual event has been successful in the past at attracting Croatian and non-Croatian people alike to an event that has been growing significantly since its inception.
"We are always keen for non-Croatians to come and see some of the handcrafts and other traditional Croatian works that are on offer", said spokesperson and the Village's general manager, Matt Smolcic.
Smolcic is also urging any creative people to create their own stand on the day and be a part of the festivities.
"We welcome anyone from our talented community to contribute to the day in any way, including selling their own work on the day, and all we ask for is to be called in advance so that bookings can be confirmed".
The day will also feature fresh flower arrangements for purchase, which Smolcic believes will be impressive this year.
"Recent rainfall has meant that the flowers are fresh and healthy and will be in full bloom for the day".
For those keen on attending the ''Croatian Heritage Day'' on Sunday May 18, either as a patron or as a stand operator, please call (02) 9823-3855 for further details.
